new changes to the mail serveR
If you are using the webmail page to access
your email, you will notice a big change in how the system
looks. Please take some time to look around and familiarize
yourself with the new layout. There is a "LITE" version as well
that looks more like our old interface. To access that, when you
go to log in, check the box that says "Use Web Messaging Lite"
and that will change the layout to a simpler design.
Customers using a mail program such as Outlook Express/Outlook,
Eudora, Thunderbird or MAC Mail will see no difference.
We have held off doing this upgrade for as
long as possible. We tried out this new system 2 years ago and
changed back due to Java version issues with older Windows and
MAC operating systems. (Windows 95/98/ME and MAC OS 8/9). If you
are still using these older systems, be aware that it's likely
that the webmail page will no longer work.
This cannot be avoided and is due to the out
of date OS you are using not being able to run the newer
security/encryption. This is going to happen more often as other
websites update their security as well.
Your only 2 options will be to either use MAC Mail, Outlook
Express or Thunderbird, or upgrade the operating system to one
of the current ones that can handle 256 bit encryption (MAC OSX,
Windows 2000/XP/Vista.)
Pyramid Will never put a cap on your
usage
Unlike the growing trend amongst other providers, Pyramid
will never limit your usage of your broadband. We have been
working to increase our main feed so that our customers can take
advantage of the growing internet technology like online TV,
video rentals, streaming media and online gaming. "Capping" is
monitoring your usage and when you reach their "cap", you are
charged extra when you go over that limit. They don't warn you
or shut you down, your monthly bill goes up.
So if you're looking for an ISP that allows
you to use your internet the way you want to, then you've come
to the right place.
